People of this body type often struggle with keeping their weight under control. People who have an endomorphic body type tend to have slower metabolisms, and tend to pack on weight very easily, no matter how little junk food they eat. When trying lose weight it is very important that endomorphs watch everything they eat, and I mean Everything. An Endomorphs diet should consist of foods that are high in complex carbohydrates, low in fat, and high in protein. For example foods such as whole wheat breads, brown rice, vegetables, beans, eggs lean meats, fish is excellent etc. Endomorphs should stay away from at all costs sugary foods, and other refined foods.
The reason for this is that these types of foods will cause your blood sugar to spike, which will cause insulin to be released, this release of insulin promotes the storage of fat. Endomorphic individuals need to exercise, and get a lot of it. Individuals with this body type already have a slower metabolism, so they need to exercise, and workout in order to speed their metabolisms up, and therefore get their bodies burning more calories. Exercises should include things like bike riding, swimming, brisk walks, aerobics and any other medium intesity faster paced exericse. This should be done 4-5 times a week.
There is no secret behind losing weight, the concept is quite simple; burn off more calories than you take in. In order for you to lose weight you first have to know how many calories you get in a day, and how many calories you need to burn in a day. Once you have this information you can reduce your caloric intake little by little until you are about 250 cal less than your daily caloric needs. It is going to be hard work and its going to take determination but if you eat healthy low fat foods, portion your meals, and exercise you will lose weight.
MesomorphIndividuals of this type are considered to be those individuals who are “naturally fit”. Mesomorphs often have bigger frames, and have a more rugged stalky look to them. Gaining muscle/losing fat is fairly easy for individuals of this body type. Mesomorphs metabolisms are somewhat better than endomorphs however; they still need to carefully watch what they eat. Mesomorphs are encouraged to do cardio however; to make sure that they do not overdo it.
EctomorphsThese individuals are often reffered to as skinny or underweight. These types of individuals will almost never have a problem with being overweight. Ectomorphs have a very small frame and their metabolisms are set to overdrive. Ectomorphs are able to get away with eating just about anything and not even gaining and ounce. When it comes to working out ectomorphs should do very little cardio as they need all the calories they can get. If trying to add muscle they should focus on heavy weights, at a slow pace.
Regardless of your body type you can lose weight or gain muscle. Whatever your goal may be if you plan your meals and exercise intensity around your body type and find things that work for you then you can accomplish your goals. Yes if you’re an endomorph you are going to have a much harder time losing weight, however; those are the cards you were dealt and it is now up to you to make the best of that hand. It may be hard with the proper attitude and determination you will be able to lose the weight and keep it off.
