Dieting it huge these days, in fact the dieting industry takes in about a billion plus dollars every year from people who are trying to lose weight. The problem with this picture is that of these billions of dollars being spend there is little if any change in our nations’ obesity rate.
Now I’m not sitting here saying that these diets don’t work. Most of the diets have been based on the basic science of weight loss and have been tested in order to prove that they do cause weight loss. The concept of a diet, and dieting products however in general have a major flaw, not really in them but about them.
You see here is what I mean, let’s say you look at yourself in the mirror you decide that you are becoming too overweight and so it is time to go on a diet. Ok so you go out get the latest weight loss supplements, and give up all kinds of food, and start to exercise a little here and there.
Over the next 3 months you’re able to shed of about 15lbs and it feels great. You have reached your goal therefore ending your diet, a few months later you’ve gained back almost all the weight. So what happened? Well you became a victim of the major flaw.
The major flaw that I’m talking about is that diets and weight loss methods are just temporary. Now like I said before diets, and dieting supplements do work for the most part. But losing weight is one thing; the hardest part is then keeping that weight from returning.
Does it really make sense, in all honesty to go on a diet and lose weight and upon doing so go right back to the lifestyle that got you overweight in the first place. I mean it just doesn’t add up. In order to lose weight and keep it off it is going to require that you change your eating and exercise habits. I wish I had a quick easy solution for effective weight loss but I don’t because there isn’t one.
What about dieting supplements, well of the one’s that have not been banned by the FDA for causing heart problems and other serious side effects. Weight loss supplements are nothing more than a temporary fix as well. Most of these supplements are made with different herbs and minerals that help to curb appetite, and increase metabolism.
All in all here’s the deal. If you want to lose weight and would like to keep it from coming back, instead of buying all of these expensive weight loss products, you need eat healthier, and exercise more. Not temporarily but as an everyday thing. In doing this you will burn more calories than you take in.
